I recently came across the debut album by British band Allo Darlin', and I have to say I am really into it.
In case the average reader doesn't know or hasn't figured it out, I am kind of into a few things.
1. U.K. groups.
2. Twee music (although I hate the name)
3. Female vocals (Not that I dislike male vocals, I just mention this because I know people who don't like female vocalists. I know, right? That's a whole other post.)
4. Nerdy obsessions.
This not a comprehensive list, but it contains information that is needed to understand whether or not it's for you or not. If you like the same same things listed, it might interest you to check said album out. If not, fuck off already.
That said, I am kind of love this album. Any band that works in a reference to "El Scorcho" is worth a listen right?
That gives you a fairly good idea of what you are in for with this album. There are slower more intimate numbers as well. Also a song about Woody Allen. A match made in heave really.
