Someone wise once said absence makes the heart grow fonder. Someone even wiser said not to speak in cliches. I'm not a particularly firm believer in either one. None the less it has been around ten months since my last post. What have I been doing? Why no posts? Read on to a tale of woe.
Woe isn't accurate. The basic premise behind my lapse is this; I am not very prolific. There's a burden I am glad to be rid of. The in depth premise is a bit more complicated. I had probably ten to 15 posts I had every intention of publishing. One was a 2011 year in review, that I ultimately couldn't edit down to a non nauseatingly pontifical length in time for it still to be relevant. I had a post about my confliction on watching the Avengers at all, let alone in theaters. I also had a post about the modern day witch hunt of Lana Del Ray. This one I may still publish, but it needs a bit of work. However people may have forgotten about her by then (damn this vicious culture cycle!). The point of this is, I write pieces but it takes me a while. In equal parts procrastination and over editing. "But my pieces are badly edited", you say? Well who asked you?
Instead here is a quick rundown of things I have been into and up to. Why do you care? I don't know. I can barely muster interest in it, and it's my life. Don't ask me, it's your weird perversion.
I read the first Hunger Games book, and enjoyed it until the out of the blue ending. I also read the Song of Fire and Ice series. Thoroughly enjoyed it, until I realized I was going to have to wait five years for the the next book. I also started Neuromancer, which I am currently enjoying. I am also halfway through Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise. I am kind of in love with this book. Not only is the art amazingly well done (Who ever thought you could have multiple characters actually look different in a comic book?), but the story is engrossing as well. I have a feeling if teenage me had read this title instead of all those fucking X-Men books I would have had a very different life.
I did end up liking the Avengers, very much so. I do feel bad for helping DisMarvel make a billion dollars off the work of Jack Kirby and others, all the while not bothering to pay for the very work that has made that money possible. I am also firmly in the Prometheus is great camp. Everyone who has a problem with it, was going to hate it regardless of what movie was made. I also seemed to be one of the few who saw Wanderlust in theaters. Shame on the rest of you.

Writing wise I am making strides. I have come up with a new old idea that I am kind of excited about, but it's very barely breathing so nothing else to say on that. Until next I post.
